AKHRIKHIN ATTENDED THE RUSSIAN PHARMACEUTICAL FORUM NAMED AFTER N.A. SEMASHKO
20.05.2022

On May 17–18, St. Petersburg hosted the annual Russian Pharmaceutical Forum named after N.A. Semashko. The head of AKRIKHIN, Denis Chetverikov, spoke at the event that brought together key players in the pharmaceutical market of Russia.

The first day of the leading industry forum opened with a plenary meeting “Healthcare under the New Conditions” dedicated to the priorities of the healthcare system and the pharmaceutical industry in the current realities. During the meeting, the pharmaceutical market leaders discussed the most pressing issues for the industry amid sanctions, the strategies and tactics of pharmaceutical companies, and the mechanisms for ensuring the sustainability of the Russian pharmaceutical industry and maintaining drug availability.

All heads of pharmaceutical manufacturers emphasised that the key issues now are maintaining financial stability and ensuring the supply of raw and other materials for stable production activities. Specifically, the President of AKRIKHIN, Denis Chetverikov, stressed the need to work on enhancing the trust between the participants in the commodity distribution chain.

The first days and weeks of the crisis resulted in the failure of confidence between the pharmaceutical market players. Problems with logistics, shutdown of supplies, and a number of suppliers leaving the market – it is manifested in many ways. First of all, the crisis of confidence needs to be “treated.” It would be positive to see manufacturers, who are fully responsible for ensuring the proper quality of products, have more freedom to make changes to existing regulations. The more the government supports and trusts us, particularly, affording us the opportunity to make changes to the regulatory documentation faster, the more the industry will be able to maintain the continuous availability of medicines for all citizens of the Russian Federation,”

— comments Denis Chetverikov, President of AKRIKHIN.
